![]() Then we went on this boat tour, and everyone was swimming in the ocean but I was seasick so I sat on the boat with the guide, and he said to me, "Hey chocolate, hey chocolate, we have the same skin tone!" because he was a darker-skinned Thai man. It did get uncomfortable, so I just tried to hide my face when I could. There are a lot of Chinese tourists that go there and they would come up to me and say, "Michelle Obama!" or "Beyonce!" I was flattered but I had to keep saying, "That's not me." They would grab me to take pictures and selfies. It was a different experience for me, though, because I was getting shouted out by people. ![]() It wasn't a problem because I felt completely comfortable in my group. I was over there for 14 days and I was hooked after that. We went to a local family's house and they taught us how to make pad thai. It's one thing to travel but it's another to really immerse yourself in the culture. We also got to speak to monks - that was the second-best part of my trip.Įxperiencing the culture is my favorite way to travel. For the first week, I was just out of it. I've never experienced jet lag like that. Thailand was awesome, but I was so scared to go - I was shaking on the plane over thereīut my mom said, "If you said you wanted to go see the elephants, go see the elephants." First, it was just for fun so my family could follow me on my adventures, but then my first travel vlog took off with more than 27,000 views, and now I have 1,200 subscribers who I affectionately call my "FiascoFam." Before I got started with EF Ultimate Break, I'd only ever been on cruises to the Bahamas and Mexico - but I always wanted to travel I started my channel because I got tired of getting on YouTube to watch vlogs about a place I wanted to travel to and seeing the search results filled with people who didn't look like me.
